NCSA CERTIFICATION TEST GUIDELINES

The NCSA has standardized the testing system so anyone who has taken an approved class, can take the test and meet the requirements listed on the “requirements to become certified

This test is a 200 question test. It includes True and False, Matching and Multiple Choice. Because of the standards the NCSA has set for only the most qualified people to become certified you are required to answer 160 of the questions accurately. We understand this is a very high percentage. We feel that if you miss more than 40 questions you need more education.

There are no trick questions in this test. If you would like an idea of the areas covered on this test please go to one of the approved course web sites and look at what the classes cover.

For NCS candidates that take the NCSA 101 course, you will be charged $25.00 for the test. You may take the test the second (2nd) time without an additional charge. If you fail the second time you must take an essay test and be interviewed by a NCSA board member, with a fee of $75.00 and your membership is at the discretion of the Board.

If you have a disability or are not able to read or understand English well, please contract the NCSA for additional options for taking the test. We offer extending time or an oral exam. Please contact the membership committee for more information

When you have paid the testing fee, you will be taken directly to the  the Newborn Care Specialist Test and the testing time will begin.  Do not pay for the test until you are ready to take it. Remember you have 90 minutes to complete the test. You will receive the results immediately after taking the test.
